Mamoun Humaidan, General Manager of Wego, which specializes in travel services and online booking for the Middle East, North Africa and India, said the travel and tourism sector is witnessing a tremendous recovery as people are back again to travel.

He noted that 2022 saw an increase in demand for flight research in the UAE, as it recorded a 104% increase in the first quarter of 2022 compared to the same period in 2019, noting that countries leading the research were Saudi Arabia with 23%, India followed with 22%, followed by Egypt and Kuwait with 8% each and Oman with 2%.

Humaidan stated that the total travel time for travelers to the Middle East and North Africa countries increased by 32%, to a stay of four to seven days, noting that individuals led the search with 74%, followed by spouses by 14.%, and families by 8%.
