The festival’s Supreme Committee unveiled the organization of the Dalma Heritage Lining Race, in collaboration with the Emirates Heritage Club, in four rounds.

The 40 best boats to participate in this competition were selected from those that had participated in the Abu Dhabi heritage rowing competition 40 feet as part of the activities of the Maritime Heritage Festival organized by the Department of Culture and Tourism in Abu Dhabi Corniche last March.

The total prize money of the competition amounts to 2.3 million dirhams, which are distributed to the owners of the first to tenth positions. In the last fifth round, the champion receives 130 thousand dirhams, while the runner-up receives one hundred thousand dirhams. and the third receives 80 thousand dirhams, then the rest of the amount is gradually distributed.

The Emirates Heritage Club will participate in the presentation of an exhibition of photographs of marine life, the history of the ancient island from the archives of the Sheikh Zayed Gallery, a children’s studio, as well as a seminar on the history of Dalma Island and a poetry evening. entitled “Dalma in Nabati Poetry”, in addition to an exhibition of Emirati Heritage Club publications focusing on books dealing with maritime heritage, the most important of which is the “Abu Dhabi Emirates Maritime Atlas” in Arabic and English. versions, the book “Sea in the UAE”, the book “Sea songs in the country”, in addition to a special section of Heritage magazine published by the club, and a photo gallery on the history of Dalma from the archives of the Sheikh Zayed Exhibition and a number of workshops maritime organized by the Club Activities Department, as well as a “Heritage Council”.

The festival’s High Committee also announced the organization of the Kingfisher Hunting Championship for men and women, for amateurs, locals and visitors of all sensibilities.

Obaid Khalfan Al Mazrouei, Director of Planning and Projects at the Management Committee for Cultural and Heritage Programs and Festivals, said the King’s Fish Hunting Championship is part of the historic Dalma Race Festival and has been awarded 30 prizes. worth more than 510,000 dirhams, including 15 prizes for men and 15 prizes for women To encourage fishermen and fishing enthusiasts and increase the spirit of competition between them.

He added, “The tournament aims to protect maritime safety from overfishing in accordance with state laws, regulate kingfish fishing, preserve traditional Emirati maritime heritage competitions, expand participation and make the seasonal race for enthusiasts. ., introduce the coasts and islands of the Al Dhafra region and create an opportunity for amateurs to practice traditional fishing and to activate and spread fishing hobbies.
