The four-cylinder unit achieves improved fuel efficiency through a new advanced combustion process, improved cooling technologies and measures to reduce the main friction force, including an advanced integrated thermal management system and the use of a low friction ball bearings.

It also houses the latest active safety technologies and advanced driver assistance systems. With safety considered a top priority during the development of this model, the fifth generation Sportage is one of the safest cars in its class.

As part of this package, the all-new Sportage features the industry-leading Avoidance Collision Avoidance Assistance (FCA), which helps avoid collisions with objects in front of the vehicle while driving.

When the lane change signal is on, if there is a risk of hitting a rear-end vehicle, the Blind Spot Avoidance Assistance (BCA) will give a warning to the driver. Upon warning, if the risk of a collision increases, the BCA effectively takes control of Sportage to help avoid the collision. BCA is also active in situations such as parallel parking maneuvers, further helping to avoid collisions with vehicles in the rear. A blind-spot monitor (BVM) is also included in all new Sportage categories to further enhance driver safety and visibility when changing lanes by displaying a real-time image of the rear of the vehicle in the instrument cluster .

The launch will take place in each regional market independently throughout the month of April. More information on prices and specifications in each market will be provided in due course.
